Surepoint Billing

• Separate Claims & Statements: After your visit, two claims are filed with your insurance. One for the Facility (Surepoint) and one for the Physician (the doctor who treated you). Your insurance company will determine your portion owed and you may receive a bills for the amount your insurance company has deemed as your responsibility.
• Deductible & Coinsurance: Even if you paid your co-pay at the time of service, you may receive a bill for your deductible (the amount you pay before insurance kicks in) or coinsurance (your percentage of the total cost).
• Texas Law Protection: Texas law requires insurance providers to pay for your emergency treatment at the in-network rate, regardless of whether our facility is in your network.

As required by Texas House Bill 2041, please be advised of the following regarding your care:

• Surepoint Emergency Center is a freestanding emergency medical care facility.

• We charge rates comparable to a hospital emergency room and may charge a facility fee. You can find those here.

• Our facility, or a physician providing medical care here, may be an out-of-network provider for your health benefit plan.

• Physicians providing medical care at our facility may bill separately from the facility for the care provided.

• Surepoint Emergency Center is an out-of-network provider for all health benefit plans.
