The holiday season is a time for giving, and this year, Surepoint Emergency Centers is proud to partner with Toys for Tots to help make the holidays brighter for children. Starting November 1st, all Surepoint Emergency Centers will have donation drop boxes where you can contribute toys to this incredible cause. Together, we can bring joy to families who might otherwise go without during this special time of year.
Toys for Tots is a nationwide program founded in 1947 by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. It began with a simple act of kindness by Major Bill Hendricks, whose wife hand-sewed a few dolls and asked him to deliver them to an organization supporting children in need. When no such organization existed, Major Hendricks decided to create one. That year, Toys for Tots collected and distributed 5,000 toys to underprivileged children in Los Angeles.
Since then, the program has grown exponentially, and Toys for Tots now operates across all 50 states, distributing millions of toys to children who might otherwise miss out on holiday celebrations. Each year, the program delivers more than 18 million toys to 7 million children, making a lasting impact on communities across the country. This campaign not only spreads holiday cheer but also gives children a sense of hope, warmth, and belonging during the festive season.
